The government of Punjab is committed to create a favourable ecosystem for women entrepreneurs in the state. In last few years, Startup Punjab in partnership with Startup India and other organizations have been organizing Capacity Building workshops for Women Entrepreneurs. This year, the month of March witnessed Boss Ladies conducting special events for women entrepreneurs. All these events were organized in partnership with Startup Punjab in four major cities of Punjab i.e, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Patiala, and Amritsar. Through the said chain of events, organizer launched “StreeDhan” on the occasion of Women’s day, with an aim to help the Women entrepreneurs/ Startups from across the Punjab state to gain and plan financial independence. Startup Punjab supported the event with a financial support of Rs.190000/-, which included Cash Prize to four Women Enterpreneurs, one from each event (Rs. 10,000/- each) i.e, Rs. 40000/-.

The workshops consisted of Influencer Entrepreneurs Meet where Women entrepreneurs from the different parts of the State showcased their products and shared their startup stories. The estimated gathering/ participant per event was 100-150 Women entrepreneurs apprx.

Startup Punjab supported “WOMEN MARCH2022” with an aim to sensitize and create awareness among women entrepreneurs of the state about the incentives/ benefits being provided to the Women Startups as defined in the IBDP 2017 with a Special Focus on Women Enterpreneurship.

As per Industrial and Business Development Policy 2017, in addition to all the fiscal incentives mentioned in the policy, the following incentives are available to women entrepreneurs:

• Fiscal incentives for MSME units: Interest Subsidy on term loan to SC Entrepreneur/ Women Entrepreneur: Interest subsidy @ 5% pa only to SC Entrepreneur/ Women Entrepreneur subject to maximum of Rs. 10 lakh per year for 3 years
